I now understand why I had to come back to Canada, I was like everywhere I have gone was supposed to come back to meet my soon to be fiance, Yuichi. I was so upset coming back but now very happy. I was looking for work in Vancouver for 4 months with no luck. I was trying so hard and failing, no matter what I did. Yuichi came to hostel end of April which he was staying in another hostel called Samesun which was expensive, so the cost of American Backpackers got him to change.
We had a nice meet up but nothing really romantically happened until about 2 months after and we go to know each other better. Even through some hard times we grew to be in each others company and he and I are similar in many ways and different in others to keep life interesting. We are both now in Oyama, in BC.
We was drawn by the name, so fate had us in Kelowna scared in a McDonald's with lots of luggage. I luckily found a far hiring in Oyama after someone recommended the area at Greyhound stop. We ave been here, first staying in our tent, which got so hot to later in a trailer that is put up for people working on farm. We got the job as Sorters for cherries. It was not as easy as we thought.
The next store is about 40 minutes walk, and so expensive. But was te best way to cool off was there becuse of the lake beach and the iced drinks. The cheaper foods to buy was 3 hours walk or by bus, which only operates to our location Mon-Friday. The walking helped us to loose some weight.
We just got word about next job in travels in Lake Louise, which is in Banff Alberta, working as housekeepers in HI-Hostel Lake Louise. I will be offered Night time security which would be end of September and pay is $12/hr 4 days a week at 10 hours a shift. We eagerly talk about using this place to get the income we need to continue on. Currently once I save enough and him, I get my passport again, apply for working holiday visa's in Japan and somewhere else; possibly Taiwan or NZ. Then go back to Japan after we see Toronto, Newfoundland and Thailand.
On my birthday, he will et our engagement rings, so very happy about that. We both decided that our lives wll be mainly lived working in Japan to save money, and traveling for enjoyment. Although jobs in Japan are stressful, you get pretty good pay in comparison to what I do here in Canada.
Our long term future is to save money, take some courses to get better skills to get better paying work in Japan. He wants a side project of trying movie business and me doing tattoo's. Later when older and have enough in savings we would maybe start a Cafe in Japan once we know enough about the business and how to run it. That would be my dream because I love safe Japan.
I am excited to get to work in the mountains then to see Belinda and Cindy in Toronto. Were both excited to go to Newfoundland because he wants to meet the family and see where I grew up. He said if we was to live in Canada it be in Newfoundland because he don't like too hot of a place to live.
I have come to learn about his family and their lives, when we are in Japan we both want to travel the wole of Japan and later work and save to go travel Asia. When we do marry, we both want to go honeymoon in Okinawa in Japan, famous for the beautiful weather and beaches. Very beautiful spot. After wel will continue to study and work and travel, learning as we go and enjoying our lives before were forced to settle down when we have our own family and no longer have the travel bug in our systems.
Tomorrow is our last working day and excited for the break, we wil enjoy the last week here relaxing in our temporary trailer. With lovely candles and outside kitchen. With lovely scenery, magpies and deer around, its our rest before were off to work again.
I'm loving life and now with someone who is helping me and protecting me, its making life so much better. Also helps when we take Greyhound Companion Fare is pay one full price ticket and second in half off!!
